RUMSAM, Jack - Passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home on Saturday, July 27th, 2019. Jack Rumsam of Trenton was 85. Son of the late Francis and Reva Rumsam. Beloved husband to Patricia Rumsam (nee Mitchell). Dear father to John Rumsam (Patti), Valerie Rumsam (Andre Dutrisac), Paul Rumsam (Donna), Brian Rumsam and Jim Rumsam (Crystal). He is pre-deceased by sisters Dora Crane, Betty Sawyer, Margaret Moore and brother Clifford Rumsam. Survived by sister Gail Silz. He will be missed by grandchildren; Crystal, Nathan, Brandon, Sean, Lisa, Jefferey, Jason, Rachel, Jesse and Autumn and great-grandkids Colby, Silas, Annika, Sebastian, Jacob and Kaleb. Jack was the past President of the Horticultural Society, proud member of the Trenton Curling Club (seniors), and co-ordinator of seniors golf for the Twilight League at Barcovan. In keeping with Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements in the care of the Rushnell Funeral Centre, 60 Division St., Trenton (613-392-2111). In lieu of flowers, donations to Ostomy Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sick Kids Hospital in Jack's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.

 

RUMSAM, Jack - We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Captain Jack Rumsam, CD (Ret’d), peacefully in his sleep, at home on Saturday, 27 July 2019 in Trenton, ON at age 85. Jack served a full career as a Firefighter - both as Air Bos'n with the Royal Canadian Navy and as a Firefighter with the Canadian Military Engineers. He served on HMCS Magnificent and HMCS Bonaventure, as well as at Canadian Forces Base Shearwater NS, CFB Trenton ON, and the Firefighter Training Company at CFB Borden ON. Jack excelled in the training world and was Commissioned from the Ranks from CPO1 to the rank of Captain. His last posting was at CFB Trenton as the Production Officer in the Base Construction Engineering Office (c1985). After retirement from the Canadian Forces Jack served as President of the Horticultural Society, was a member of the Trenton Curling Club (seniors), and was co-ordinator of seniors golf for the Twilight League at Barcovan.
