BRIND'AMOUR, Claude Joseph Rudolph Herve (John) - Age 76, of Dartmouth, passed away on April4, 2019 at home. Born in Buckingham, Que., he was a son of the late Jean and Therese Brind'Amour. John was a career navy man who served over 30 years in the RCN working on several ships including the HMCS Chaudiere, HMCS Bonaventure, retiring from HMCS Protecteur. He enjoyed attending church services and helping whenever needed. He loved unconditionally and cherished the time he spent with his family most of all. John is survived by his wife, Mary (Hubley) Brind'Amour; children, Eric (Carrie-Ann) Brind'Amour, Mary-Elizabeth (Lt. Cdr. Troy) Irwin; grandchildren, Timothy, Amy and Emily Brind'Amour; Meredith, Rachael, Naomi and Lauren Irwin. He is also survived by his siblings, Gilberte, Gilles (Estelle), Paul (Lize), Alice (Pierre) Middlestead, Andre (Alana), Hubert 'Bob' (Linda), Francine (Maurice) Dupuis, Pierre (Carole) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Irene Brind'Amour and Madeline Houle. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 8th in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Jacques Brind'Amour officiating. Reception to follow. Cremation and Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
