GOODEVE, Arthur George - Suddenly on December 21, 2005 at the age of 83. George was born in Ottawa on April 10, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy at the outbreak of WWII and rose from Midshipman to Lieutenant Commander, surviving the sinking of his ship, the Levis, in 1941. He has lived in every region and most major cities in Canada, working in financial roles in various capacities particularly in the mining industry. He retired in 1982 and moved to Victoria, BC. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice; beloved father of Philip Goodeve, Susan (David) Martin, Anne (Ron) Yungwirth and Victoria (Ian) Noble. He is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren. A celebration of George's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, on Wednesday, December 28 at 2:00 P.M. with a reception to follow in the Holly Room. If desired, donations in George's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. (Victoria Times Colonist 24 Dec 2005)
