KEMP, Arthur Eugene Coder, V39976, RCNVR, MPK - 24 Nov 1944, HMCS SHAWINIGAN - son of Herbert and Dora Mae Kemp; husband of Phyllis Elsie Kemp, of Toronto, ON. 

 

Coder Arthur E. Kemp, 27, enlisted 2½ years ago. His wife lives at 164 Livingstone Ave. He was born in Belleville and educated at Trenton, where he was later employed at the airport. He trained here and at St. Hyacinthe, Que., after enlisting. He has two children, Rosalie and Philip.

 

Coder Kemp died when HMCS SHAWINIGAN was sunk by U-1228 on 24 Nov 1944. Of her crew of 91, there were no survivors.
