Norman was a son of John Caswell and Angelina Burns. He married Blanche Catherine Watts on 15 Jun 1945 at Halifax, NS. Their marriage registration lists Norman as an Able Seaman in the RCNVR and was serving at HMCS CORNWALLIS.
