BLENKHORN, Laurie Ivon - 65, Parrsboro, died Wednesday in South Cumberland Hospital, Parrsboro. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of Olga (Willigar) Shea and the late Harold Blenkhorn. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He worked 24 years with C.N.R. He was a member of Minas Masonic Lodge, Parrsboro and Parrsboro Legion, Branch 45. He was also past president and zone commander of Rothesay Legion, Branch 58. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Spicer; three daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Terry Fancy), Mary, both of Rothesay; Ardyth (Mrs. Jerry Otten), Toronto; two sons, Brian, Dennis, both of Nanaimo, B.C.; a brother, Alfred, Dartmouth; five grandchildren. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where Masonic and Legion services will be 7 p.m. today. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Quispamsis, N.B., Rev. John Tremblay officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Quispamsis. Note: Laurie married Delilah Lavinia Henwood married on 28 December 1944 at Halifax, Halifax County, NS. They later divorced. His marriage record lists him as serving in HMCS KIRKLAND LAKE.
