Robert was a Marine Engineer - Technologist Program - in the Royal Canadian Navy 1987 - 1993 and then continued to get his 2nd Class Engineer's. Family, friends, being an RMT and helping people as a Massage Therapist were his greatest loves. He enjoyed rebuilding his old Commodore 64 computer through many years, to work with today's technology, learning to speak Tibetan, studying Buddhism and attending teachings by HH The Dalai Lama, while on a recent trip to India, with his wife Laura, kayaking, zooming around Nanaimo on his power skate board, stopping at his favourite coffee shop, often, for his double shot Americano. He loved living in Nanaimo and going for long walks and coffee with his wife and 2 sons. Robert had a sharp wit, was fun loving and enjoyed a good joke. He studied the Holy Bible with a passion, as well as Buddhism. One verse he had highlighted was Titus 1:1 (KJV) "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began." "Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully, which we can do by helping others wherever possible" Dalai Lama "Namaste"

A private family service was held, with Cremation following. (First Memorial Funeral Services, Nanaimo, BC.) As an expression of sympathy and to honour Robert's life, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
