The youngest of 18 children of John Angus Moar (1867-1951) and Phoebe Elizabeth (née O'Brien) Moar (1873-1951) He married Mary Arlene Clarkin (1915-1985) on 22 Apr 1948 at Millbank, Miramichi, Northumberland Co., New Brunswick.
Frederick survived the sinking of HMCS ATHABASKAN G07. He was rescued / captured by German Naval Forces and spent the rest of the war as a POW.
