Allan Winters

Died: 09 Feb 1974, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

 

WINTERS, Allan - Suddenly on February 9, 1974 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Allan Winters, aged 55 years, beloved husband of Mary Winters of 1579 Pritchard Ave.  Mr. Winters was born in Speers, Sask., moving at an early age to Saskatoon where he was educated.  He joined the RCNVR in 1940, and served overseas in the Second World War on board HMCS Prince Robert until 1945.  After the Second World War he was employed in the grocery trade business and worked at various supermarkets in Saskatoon and Winnipeg.  He was presently employed at Speakman's IGA Store in Windsor Park.  Besides his wife Mary, Mr. Winters is survived by two brothers, William of Lethbridge, Alta., and Horace of Richmond, B.C.  Funeral service Thursday, February 14, 1974 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bardal Funeral Home, Sherbrook at William, Dr. Philip Petursson officiating.  Interment in Kildonan Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Chapel Wednesday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Pallbearers will be: Messrs. John Lewis, Gordon Westergard, Julian Dusessoy, Harold (Bud) Insch, Allan Boyce and Gordon Miller.  Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Manitoba Heart Foundation.  Bardal Funeral Home in care of Arrangements, 774-7474 (The Winnipeg Free Press) (click here to view the obituary as published)
