In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MAYNE, Edwin Roy - It is with our deepest sadness that our father Edwin Roy Mayne has passed quickly after a short battle with cancer on April 17/2025 in the VGH. Born on April 20/1936. Dad was predeceased by his mother and father, Leonard and Mildred Mayne, his brother Joseph Mayne and his beloved wife Monica Mayne. For many years, dad mentioned how he wanted to be with mom.
Edwin is survived by his two sisters Joan Pilkey, Linda Wiebe; daughters Kim (Mike) Condy, Michelle Tanner (Ron Deveau), Brittany Bailey (Ben, Eden and Russel), Hilary Mills (Raymond, Rhett and Sadie) and many relatives.
Dad was an avid gardener, joined the navy at 18 and served on the Bonnie. Ed specialized in electronics during his service and later worked for RCA and CBC.
There will be a grave site service on Thursday April 24th at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville at 2pm.
Many thanks to the staff on 5B at the VGH in Halifax. They went above and beyond caring for dad and our family members. I'd love to mention a lovely student nurse from NSCC named Kara who was always helping our father.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
