DIXON, Lancelot George (Lance) - LCdr, CD, RCN 1956-1989 - Revenue Canada Ret'd. 1989-1999. Peacefully on October 12, 2014 at the Élisabeth Bruyére Hospital after a courageous battle in his 75th year. Lance is survived by his beloved wife, companion and friend of 53 years, Marjory Rosalind Dixon (nee Vaillancourt). Loving father of Lance (Lorie) of Fredericton, NB, Deborah-Lynn (Bruce) of Ottawa, ON. Proud grandfather of Kaitlyn, Kendra, Samantha, Kathleen, Lance, Michael and Courtney. Survived by his sister Mary W. Williams of Vancouver, BC and Vincent W. Dixon of Edmonton, AB. Lance joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1956 at the age of 17. He served faithfully with pride and devotion until 1989 at which time he joined the Canadian Forces Reserves until 1994. Friends are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway), Ottawa Monday, October 20, 2014 after 11 a.m. followed by Interment with Military Honours at the National Military Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital for their compassionate and dignified care provided to a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated.
