Died: 05 May 2005, London, Ontario, Canada

 

AYRE, Norman Frederick - born London Ontario December 22, 1924 and died in that City May 5th, 2005. Signing on with the RCNVR in late 1942 he trained and was qualified as a Visual Signalman at ST HYACINTHE, Quebec and was posted to the RCN Frigate HMCS NEW GLASGOW, serving on the North Atlantic as mid ocean escort and U.K. waters until discharged in September 1945. Married to Alice for almost 60 years, he had two children and four grandchildren. He worked in sales and management for Hilroy School Supplies until his retirement. He is buried beside Alice in the City of his birth.”
