In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HAWKINS, Michael Robert - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Robert Hawkins, age 53, on April 16, 2025. Mike was a gentle soul who touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Born on October 8, 1971, in Toronto, ON, Mike is survived by Isabelle Bouchard; children, Eric and Clara; father, William (Bill); brother, John (Julie); and nephew and nieces, Gord, Bea and Gabi. Mike's beloved mother, Mary-Lou, passed in 2009. Mike attended high school at St. Michael's College School, followed by a Bachelor of Commerce from Queens University. Following university, Mike completed numerous financial designations, including CFA, CSC, and CAIA and worked at TD and CIBC and abroad. Later in life, Mike was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Canadian Naval Reserves at HMCS York and completed a Computer Science degree from the University of Toronto. Mike will always be remembered for his love of Eric and Clara, his passion for the outdoors and animals, his incredible memory, his inclusive nature, and his zany sense of humour. Special thanks to all Mike's close friends who have provided unconditional love and support over the years. May you rest in peace, Mike. A celebration of Mike's life will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., Toronto, ON, between 1-4 p.m. In memory of Mike's life, please make any donations to the World Wildlife Fund.
