SHAW, Mickey Albert - 83, Malay Falls, passed away suddenly on March 15, 2025 at home. Born July 13, 1941 in Val-d’Or, Quebec. He was a son of the late Melville and Hazel (Rodgerson) Shaw.

Mickey was an RCN Veteran having served on the Bonaventure & Magnificent. After moving to Malay Falls in 2000, Mickey was able to invest time into his many talents and hobbies such as wood carvings, paintings, pinstriping and more. Another one of Mickey’s finest talents was his signs and lettering – which led to a successful business doing what he loved. Dear to Mickey was time spent with his loving wife in Malay Falls.

Survived by his wife of 40 years together, Sandra Shaw, sons; Terry, Glenn, Kevin, Ian and one daughter; Shelly. Granddaughter; Terri-Anne Norwood-Shaw (Bryan), and Great Granddaughter; Grace Huisman, brother; Herbert Shaw (Gisele). Predeceased by two sisters; Pat Brunk (Ken), and Frances Stocking (Joe).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Ships served in:

HMCS BONAVENTURE

Webmaster's note:  The obituary for Mickey Shaw says that he served in HMCS MAGNIFICENT.  I believe this is an error as he would have had to join the navy at the age of 15 in order to get through New Entry Training at CORNWALLIS and get drafted to MAGNIFICENT before she paid off in Jun 1957
