Died: 20 Feb 2025

WATSON, William M. Bruce - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William M. Bruce Watson, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 77. A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Bruce's warmth, humour, and unwavering support touched everyone who knew him.

Born in Calgary, Bruce embraced life with love and laughter. He had a deep appreciation for photography, reading, scuba diving, sailing, swimming, running, biking, and travel. He also cherished his dogs and cats.

Bruce served in the Canadian Navy aboard the H.M.C.S. Terra Nova before working in Aerial Photography and Remote Sensing for the BC Provincial Government. Known for his quick wit and firm belief that a cold beer could solve just about anything, he took pride in his homebrew, often reminding everyone that the secret ingredient was "patience... and maybe a little more hops."

Bruce is deeply missed by his loving wife Ida, children Christine, William (Jesse), and Jordan (Rob), grandchildren Morghan, Carmen, Sam and Sadie, his special sister Pat (Bill), and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends. His legacy of love and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 5, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at CFB Esquimalt Chief's and Petty Officer's Mess, 1575 Lyall Street, Esquimalt, B.C.

Forever loved, never forgotten. (The Victoria Times Colonist 11 Mar 2025)
