Died: date of passing unknown

 

A son of William Saunders and Viola (née Carpenter) Saunders of Saint John New Brunswick.  Brother to John Leonard Saunders and Clarence Judson Saunders.  He married Helen Lorraine Freeze 13 Sep 1948 at Saint John, New Brunswick.

 

Ships served in:

HMCS ATHABASKAN - Walter survived the sinking of HMCS ATHABASKAN.  He was rescued / captured by German Naval Forces and became a POW for the remainder of the war.
