HAYWOOD, John Michael - Our family is devastated to announce the sudden passing of John "Black Johnny" Micheal Haywood. Lovingly known as "Charlie" to his siblings. Born August 15, 1967, in Montreal to Cecil Edward Hayward of Glacé Bay NS, and Elizabeth Rebecca Williams of Cape Breton, NS.

 

John is survived by his son, Micheal Haywood, and grandchildren Wilson and Freya; daughter, Toni Lynn Haywood; siblings Cecilia LeBlanc (Williams), Veronica Williams, Kyle Whyet, Karl Williams, Donna and Debbie Francis (Marshall); partner in life, Gabrielle Wilson, and chosen daughters Kaitlyn (granddaughter Nova),Dawn, Ashley, Jemma, and Sierra.

 

John will be missed deeply by extended family and by all who knew him.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Elizabeth; brother Cecil; friend and mother of his children, Heather MacLaren. John was a proud veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving from 1988-1992. He took pride in his family, his friendships, and his natural ability to help those around him.

 

Visitation will be held at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20th from 10am to 2pm, and 4pm to 7pm. All are welcome. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd from 4pm to 7pm at the Fort Augustus Rec Centre.
