ASPREY, William Henry - 64, of 6022 Stanley Street, Halifax, died Sunday in the Victoria General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Mrs. Elizabeth (Bowser) and the late William A. Asprey. He was employed with Robert Simpson's Ltd. for 27 years, retiring in 1974. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch #142 and was a past-president of the Nova Scotia Mineral and Gem Society. Surviving besides his wife, the former. Madeleine Pavia, are a daughter Rozanne (Mrs. John Webb), Halifax; a son Ken, at home; six sisters, Veronica (Mrs. Charles Fader), Jessie (Mrs. Robert MacDougall), Marie (Mrs. Harold Phelan), Anne (Mrs. John Young) and Agnes, all, of Halifax; Mrs. Helen Forhan, Dartmouth, and one grandson. The body is in Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax. Funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
