A son of Annie (née Charnley) and Cecil Hazen Rudolf Zwicker, William served in the RCN during the Second World War. After the war he enrolled at the University of New Brunswick.
William's brother, Charnley Hezen Zwicker, also served in the RCN during the Second World War.
