In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ROY, Jean-Louis - Peacefully, at age 98, surrounded by family at Perley-Rideau Health Center in Ottawa.
Pre-deceased by wife Marjorie, and brother Dr. Paul H. Roy. Loving father of Claude and Marie (Jim Prince). He will be dearly missed by granddaughters Julia (Joël Couture-Tremblay) and Madelaine (Jamie Sorensen).
Jean joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an Officer Candidate (UNTD) in 1945. He graduated from Laval University (B. Com) 1949 and M. Com (Marketing) in 1950. He joined the regular force shortly thereafter and served as a Logistics Officer in various ships and shore establishments, including a tour of duty in Korea in HMCS Huron. He retired in 1973. He then joined the Public Service until his retirement in 1995.
A private funeral has been arranged. Heartfelt thanks to Perley -Rideau Veterans' Health staff for their attentive care and selfless services. Donations may be made in Jean- Louis' honour to the Perley Health Foundation.
