Died: 20 Nov 1941, Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada

 

The son of Joseph Robert Mead and Martha Kelsey Smith of Hamilton, Ontario.  Lieutenant Frank Clarence Castlehow Mead was an employee of The Scotia Bank (Bank of Nova Scotia) and officer with the 1st Regiment, The Canadian Grenadier Guards. He served as a Lieutenant with the 1st Regiment, Canadian Grenadier Guards in Montreal before resigning his commission to join the RNCVR.

HMCS RAINBOW - Appointed to RAINBOW 11 Oct 1917, Add'l for Training and Disposal (Navy List Jan 1918)

HMCS NIOBE - Appointed to NIOBE 29 May 1918  for Miscellaneous and Special Service, East Coast 1918

* Demobilized / Transferred to the RCNVR

* Appointed Lieutenant, RCNVR (seniority 14 Mar 1923) (Navy List Sep 1923)

MONTREAL HALF COMPANY RCNVR - Appointed to MONTREAL HALF COMPANY (English Speaking) 14 Mar 1923 as Commanding Officer. The first appointment of a commanding officer to a unit of the RCNVR. (Navy List Sep 1923)
