RHODENHISER, William Sunday - 90, Pleasantville, Lunenburg Co., died December 11, 2005, at home. Born on Tancook Island, he was a son of the late William F. and Bessie (Stevens) Rhodenhiser. He was a member of Pleasantville Baptist Church. He enlisted in the navy in the Second World War and volunteered for service overseas. He became a Commando and served in the Invasion of Sicily, D-Day, Southern France, Greek Islands and the Greek Mainland. Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Lantz; children, Weston (Patricia), Dartmouth; Denise (Paul) Auger, Fenelon Falls, Ont.; Brady, Pleasantville; Eldon (Ronda), Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, William; brothers, Clarence, Randolf, John, Pearlie, Wilford; sisters, Ida, Beulah, Blanch, and Lilly. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pleasantville Baptist Church, Rev. Quincy Collins officiating, assisted by Pastor Chris Emery. Burial in Pleasantville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Pleasantville Baptist Church.
