In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
KING, Louis Albert - (11 May 1959 - 04 March 2024) Livin' easy, Lovin' free, Season ticket on a one-way ride"
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Louis Albert Michael King wish to announce his sudden passing.
Louis was born on May 11, 1959, in St. Fintan's, NFLD to the late Louis Charles King and Alma Perrier.
Aside from his parents, Louis was predeceased by his loving wife, Laura; his parents-in-law, Evelyn and Reuben Priddle; and his best buddy, Scamper.
Louis and the absolute love of his life, Laura, were married for 32 beautiful years, and made Eastern Passage their home, raising their daughter Lynnette (Richard) of Fredericton, NB and son, Louis (Elf) of Beijing, China. Louis lived every day to be the best Pop-Pop he could be to his little grandsons, Derek and Eli.
Louis is survived by his sister, Maxine of Stephenville, NFLD. He is also survived by his cousins, who were like siblings to him growing up: Eugene, Brian, and Wanda of Newfoundland. Louis is also survived by his best friend of many years, Sandy, of Eastern Passage, NS.
Louis was one of the most gentle, friendly, and selfless people you'd ever meet. His family was his top priority, and he lived every day to make sure they were cared for, loved, and happy. Louis took so much pride in his career of 34 years with the Royal Canadian Navy, where he will be missed by the many close friends and colleagues that he served with over the years. Louis spent his retired years walking his beloved dog Scamper and chatting with his friends in the neighborhood, relaxing with a good crossword puzzle and a Western, and spending quality time with his Der-Bear.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place in Eastern Passage upon the arrival of Louis' son. An updated obituary with dates and times will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada.
Louis was a wonderful, irreplaceable person whose love for everyone in his life will never be forgotten. We extend our greatest appreciation to all of the doctors and physiotherapists that helped make our Dad's final years as comfortable as possible. (Dartmouth Funeral Home)
