Died: 19 Oct 2002, Vancouver, British Columbia

 

Note: the (n) after his rank denoted being trained as a Navigator in Canada

 

BARRETT-LENNARD, Walter James - born April 9th, 1914 passed away on October 19th, 2002. Walter served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a 1st Lieut. in the North Atlantic during WWII. He was a life long Vancouver resident. Walter is survived by his devoted wife Betty to whom he was married for 55 years; his children Jane, Deborah, Barbara and Jim and his grandchildren Brenna and Jaimie. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for his enjoyment of life, love of literature and the arts and his humour and sharp wit. He will also be remembered as one of the original residents of Hood Point, Bowen Island. (The Vancouver Sun / The Province 27 Apr 2012)
