Died: 29 Jun 2014, Kincardine, Ontario

 

THURBER, C. Linden (Len) - beloved husband of Greta Thurber (Kenney) of Ripley, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Ontario on Sunday June 29, 2014 at age 76.

 

He was born in Westport, Nova Scotia on June 25, 1938 to the late Greta (Welch) and Cecil Thurber. Dear Father of Cheryl ( Dan ) Wilken of Ripley, Chris (Sherri) Thurber of Houston , BC and Rod (Jacqueline) Thurber of Gaetz Brook, Nova Scotia. Also greatly missed by grandchildren; Kristin, Ashton, Bethany, Nina and Eric and siblings Arden (Sandy) Thurber of Kanata, Cyril Gordon (Elizabeth) Thurber of Stewiacke, N.S. and Avis (Hugh) Faulkner of Dartmouth N.S., and several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, Gail Titus of Oakville, Ont., Penny Graham of Westport; and brother-in-law, Danny (Theresa) Kenney of Westport.

 

Linden served in the Canadian Navy from 1955-1969 and spent many years working across Canada in the mining and marine industries.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley on Tuesday July 1,2014 at 1 PM with Judy Zarubick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ripley Legion Br. 440, Freeport Legion Br. 092 or St. Andrew's United church are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
