Son of William Arthur Bushfield (1893-1928) and Gertrude Melinda (née Morenz) Bushfield (1900-1991). Husband of Isabel Ruth (née Binkle) Bushfield. AB Bushfield is buried in the Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, Perth Co., Ontario
Citation for the award of the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM):
BUSHFIELD, William Arthur, Able Seaman, V4657, Distinguished Service Medal (DSM), RCNVR - Awarded as per Canada Gazette of 20 January 1945 and London Gazette of 29 August 1944.
"For gallantry, skill, determination and undaunted devotion to duty during the landing of Allied Forces on the coast of Normandy."
