CONNOLLY, Russell Norman - It is with great sadness that the family of Russell Norman Connelly age 91 of North Battleford Sask. announces his peaceful passing Monday August 1, 2023 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital with family by his side.

 

Son of the late Robert and Maude Connelly, predeceased by sister Juanita Dyke and loving wife Myrtle Connelly.

 

Survived by his loving family, daughters Tammy, Janice (Ken), Teanne (Kevin), grandchildren Robert, Jennifer (D.J), Cody (Kitda), Ashley (Pat), Michelle (Derek), Terri (Justin) great grandchildren Christian, Taylor, Ben, Chase, Cayden, Emily, Lincoln, Oliver, Everleigh and one on the way.

 

Russell joined the Canadian Navy 1949 where he became a clearance diver. During that time he served in the Korean War on HMCS Cayuga. After retirement from the navy in 1974 he went on to be a long-haul driver for Day&Ross until his retirement in 2007.

 

Russell enjoyed being with his family while having a cold beer and a good meal. He always made sure his loved ones had everything they needed and took great pride in all of their successes.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Veterans Memorial 5 East for their excellent care over the last several years.

 

Memorial visitation will be Aug 9, 2023, 6-8pm at Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St, Dartmouth,

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Veterans Canada or to a charity of your choosing.
