In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar

George Hewison Robert Richardson Hindmarch

Born: Jan 1917, Kamloops, British Columbia

Died: 1955

Born in Kamloops BC in Jan 1917, George was known as Robert all his life. Robert had a rough start to life. His mother died two days after he was bon. Robert was raised by his aunt and uncle but did not know they were not his biological parents until his teen years.

He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served in HMCS WESTMOUNT, a minesweeper, off the coast of Canada as well as in other ships on convoy duty in the North Atlantic. Upon enlisting, Robert learned that his namesake was a relative who had served in the British Army during the Great war and had been wounded at Gallipoli and killed on the Somme in 1916.

Robert died in January 1955
