HALL, Stewart Willis - Age 85, of Mineville, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2014 at Dartmouth General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Buckhorn, Ontario, he was the son of the late Bruce and Margaret Hall. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley (Power) Hall; sons, Duane , Mineville; Shaun, Halifax; Stacy, (partner Arni), Courtney BC; sisters, Jean Heard, Buckhorn Ont; daughters-in-law Mary (MacLean) Hall; Rebecca (Leano) Hall; nephew, Douglas Heard, Toronto; niece, Kimberly (Heard) Armstrong, Buckhorn Ont; numerous nieces and nephews on the distaff side. Stewart served in the RCN and CAF for twenty-five years, and sailed in many of HMC ships and submarines out of Halifax Nova Scotia, and various United Kingdom ports. Following his retirement he worked as a real estate appraiser for Royal Trust, and as independent business owner. Throughout his life Stewart was a quiet and private man, who enjoyed the outdoors, and appreciated the solitude of his camp at Newcombe Lake in Ship Harbour. All who knew him will remember him as humble and unfailingly kind; Stewart Hall was a good man, and he will be greatly missed. Our most sincere thanks to the staff at Jamieson Hall (Parkland), and 4 West at Dartmouth General Hospital for their kindness and excellent care. Cremation has taken place; visitation and service to be determined at a later date.
Stu's son, Duane Hall, also served in the Navy in Submarines.
