HARRISON, Gordon Howard - It is with great sadness we say goodbye to an amazing husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. Gordon Howard Harrison born November 27, 1944, left us March 22, 2023 after a short but courageous battle with gastric cancer. Gord was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy for 27 years - serving an additional four years with the Canadian Navy Reserve before retiring and spending the next 20 years with the Commissionaires, while acting as a long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Gord loved spending his free time in his beloved workshop as he was a master craftsman and artist. He was passionate about his sports, a die-hard Chicago Blackhawks fan. Gord played slo-pitch for years. He spent his summers at the Glooscap Campground in Parrsboro with family and friends. Gordon adored his dogs Bluebell and Piper. Gord spent 44 years married to his soulmate Doreen Harrison. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons, Steven Flemming, Tony Flemming and Justin Harrison; brothers, Ernie Harrison and Tom Harrison; sisters, Cathy Cole and Debbie MacDonald; all his loving grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Betty and Garfield Harrison; brothers, Larry, Art and Gary Harrison; sister, Helen Reid; and daughter, Shawna Harrison. Gord was loved by many and will be missed by all. A private family Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Poppy Fund by The Royal Canadian Legion.  “Rest Easy Sailor” (The Saltwire Network 28 Mar 2023)
