RESTALL, Lawrence Alexander (Larry) - Born July 21, 1922, native son of Victoria, died May 28, 2006 at Glengarry Hospital. Suffering from Parkinson's disease, he finally lost the battle with courage and dignity. Devoted husband of Marion for 65 years and loving father to his children, Bruce (Dianne), Clayton (Charo), Allen (Ruth), Donald and Eveline Bowen (David), grandfather to 12, and great grandfather to 8. His brother Ray and sister Mary also survive him. Predeceased by his brother Ken. Larry served in the RCN during WW2 as a Radar Technician assigned to Atlantic Convoy duty including a run to Murmansk, Russia. He attended Victoria Normal School and UBC after the war and was then employed by Base Supply, DND. Having served a total of 38 years with the Federal Service, Larry retired in 1984. He was an active member of the Pacific Alliance Church. Past hobbies included traveling, sailing with CFSA and playing bridge, but his greatest joy in life was his family. Beloved patriarch, friend to all who knew him - Larry will be greatly missed. To his children, 'he was jus the best guy!'
Church service to be held on Monday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at the Pacific Alliance Church, 1792 Townley Street, immediately followed by a tea at the church. Graveside service will follow at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive.
