FOURNIER, Sylvio Alvarez - In loving memory of Sylvio Alvarez Fourneir 83 years who passed away Sunday morning, December 16th, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital-St. Joseph Health Center, after a lengthily and courageous battle with Parkinson's. Born in Sudbury, where he married Joyce in 1949. He served overseas during World War II with the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lively Branch and then the Lockerby Branch. Sylvio graduated from the University of Toronto as a Forestry Engineer. He worked for 39 years with the Canadian International Paper Company, in Maniwaki, Noranda and as manager at Woodlands in Dalhousie, N.B., retiring in 1989. Sylvio moved to Lively in 1989 and he was a member of St. Puis X Church. Beloved husband of Joyce (MacLennan) Fournier of Lively. Loving father of Lee (husband Louis Vujanich) of Pt. Moody, B.C., Ann (husband Denis Addleman) of Maniwaki, Que., Steven (wife Helen) of Barrie, David (wife Elaine) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Julie (husband David Matheson) of Ottawa. Cherished grandpa of Amy, Heather, Michael, David, Philip, Graham, Hannah, Katherine, Laura, Claire and Jennifer predeceased. Dear son of Leonard and Louise Fournier both predeceased. Dear brother of Patricia Pierce and Armand both predeceased. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Funeral Mass in St. Puis X Church, Lively, Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 at 11 am. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Prayers Monday at 7 PM. Memorial Service Monday 7:30 pm under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #564, Lockerby.The family would appreciated donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
