Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Marjorie Ellen Higdon nee Robertson. She had a short career in the CAF as a Radar Plotter, at CFS Shelbourne. She met the love of her life Stephen in Halifax N.S. After a whirl wind romance, they were married in Oct 1969. She was honourably discharged. She raised two lovely children. As they grew, she returned to night school and became a bookkeeper. She started working at Zwerling Photography in Halifax and Fisherman's Cove in Dartmouth N.S. At CAF bases, Penhold AB and Calgary AB. Following her husband around, she was a volunteer mom, forever it seemed, schools, hockey, ringette, soccer, curling, etc. Later in life, she joined the Canadian Legion Branch 39, where she did catering, poppy campaigns and was awarded for her hard work, with a life membership. She was a no-nonsense person, very organized, loved Coronation Street and Country Music (her favourite was Rita MacNeil). She loved being out in the boat with George, on calm days. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A special thanks to Steve's cousin Heather (Vaughan) Paul for proving a safe harbour during a difficult time.
Fair Winds and following Seas. Rest on your oars, we have the watch.
