POTTER, Douglas - Passed away suddenly on February 24, 2012 at WRH-Met Campus. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Ann. Loving and devoted husband of Jean (nee Lane). Dear father of Debbi Potter, Tammie Thompson and her twin sister Tracey Wolf (Rob). Cherished grandfather of Rebecca, Adam, Bryan, Ben, Ken, Karyn and Maggie. Survived by his sister Margaret and his brothers Robert and Jack (Barb). Predeceased by his sister Jessie (1989), sister-in-law Anne (1999) and his nephew Wayne (1993). Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Doug was retired from General Motors Trim Plant, former member of the Windsor Police Force and proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 201. Visitation will take place at the Victoria Greenlawn Memorial Chapel and Visitation Centre 1525 Hwy 3 (1 km west of Walker Road) 519-969-3939 on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. WVM service will be at 7 p.m. (Naval veterans). A Legion service will take place at 7:30 p.m. under the auspices of the RCL Br. 201. A private family service will take place on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Cremation to follow. A public Memorial Service will follow in the Spring of 2012. If you desire, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
