Died: 05 Sep 2022 age 70

 

FORD, Henry John (Harry) - of Coxheath, NS passed away in Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the age 70. Born in St. John’s, NL, he was a son of the late Harry and Mary (O’Brien) Ford. While living in St. John’s, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve Unit, HMCS Cabot, reaching the rank of Petty Officer First Class. During this time, he also served with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) 74 Golan Heights Signals Troop. After a career with Nav Canada Air Traffic Services, Henry retired to Coxheath, NS. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Patrick. Henry leaves to mourn his wife of 42 years, Frances (Caines); sons, Mike and Andy, all of Coxheath; brothers, Brian (Helen), Foxtrap and Jim (Carly), St. John’s; and sisters, Rosemary Ford, St. John’s and Anne Ford, Airdrie, AB. Also left to mourn are his brother-in-law, Andy Caines (Cathie), Camperdown, NS; aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well as good friends, Chris and Sharon Grainger, Len and Joan McMurrer and Scott and Sherry MacKay; and his fur buddy, Ozzy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, St. John’s.
