KOOPS, William (Bill) - It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Koops of Arnprior, who passed away peacefully in the Arnprior and District Hospital, on Friday April 15, 2022 in his 97th year. Bill Koops beloved husband of 76 years to Marion Koops nee Hebner. Dear father of Wayne (Madeleine) Koops, Ken Koops and Debbie Cloutier (late Adrien). Loving grandpa to Kathryn Lalande (David), Sherry Koops (Mo), Richard Koops (Natalie), Karina Campbell (Brian), Kevin Koops (Amanda), Christian Cloutier (Melanie), Michael Cloutier, Adam Cloutier (Julie), Amanda Core (Don). Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren Friends may call at the Fraser - Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden Monday April 25, 2022 from 2 - 4pm. The Funeral Service will be held in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Arnprior, on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 11am. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Chalk River Ontario. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Arnprior or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation would be appreciated. To all who knew Bill he was always looking for the next best thing in his life which always included Service starting with Service to his Country during World War II in the Navy as an Able Seaman on the HMS Nabob. Bill returned from the war to Chalk River, married Marion and had two sons Wayne and Ken. He then had the opportunity to move to Ottawa where he settled in the Township of Nepean and had his daughter Debbie. While working different positions in the government Bill gave of himself 12 years of Service to Nepean as Councilor. Bill and Marion moved from Nepean to the Township of McNab/Braeside where they settled on the Madawaska River and gave 7 years as a Councilor. He retired from his Project Manager Position of the Canadian Commercial Corporation in the Federal Government in 1983. After retirement Bill and Marion enjoyed many years in the Florida Sunshine before selling on the Madawaska River and moving to Arnprior in 2007. (The Ottawa Valley News 23 Apr 2002)
