BROWNE, Vernon James - Passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour, in his 99th year, on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Hamilton General Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Doris Enid Browne (Newman). Treasured by beloved daughters, Nancy Joudrie and Margaret Murphy and much-loved sons-in-law Wayne and Michael. Proud grandfather of Brad (Rachel) Joudrie and Laura Joudrie. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father William James Browne, mother Winnifred Minnie and brother Arthur. Vernon was a proud veteran serving on the HMCS GUELPH during WWII. After working at Studebaker and Ford Motor Co. he found his true calling as a teacher. He had fond memories of serving students in Hamilton. He then moved to M. M. Robinson and Oakville Trafalgar Secondary Schools in Halton. During retirement, he continued his Christian service into his nineties at the Hamilton City Mission. Due to COVID, a Private Family Ceremony and Interment at Garners Corners Cemetery, Ancaster will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Arrangements entrusted to Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home Ancaster Chapel, 378 Wilson St. East, Ancaster. Special appreciation to the staff at Highgate Residence Ancaster, for their kindness and caring in the past few years. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Bible Society, Halton Learning Foundation or Hamilton Foundation for Student Success would be appreciated by the family.
