Funeral services for Ordinary Seaman Douglas William Maksvytis, RCN, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at St. Patrick's Church. OS Maksvytis, only child of Mrs. Muriel Maksvytis, was killed accidentally in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., March 20, while on guard duty. OS Maksvytis' ship was in Fort Lauderdale on a training cruise and the 19-year-old seaman was struck by a car as he patrolled a bridge near where his ship was berthed. Born June 6, 1942, OS Maksyvtis attended St. Anne's Boys School and D'Arcy McGee High School before joining the Royal Canadian Navy last year. The body now is at Armstrong Funeral Home, 3426 park Avenue. Burial will be in Cote des Neiges Cemetery.
