PARKER, Earl Joseph - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Earl Joseph Parker in his 91st year. Loving husband of Valerie, proudly married for 64 years, and cherished father of Cheryl (Guy). Devoted grandpa of Leah (Brent), Telah (Luke), Robert, Alannah (Evan) and great-grandpa of Bryce. Earl is pre-deceased by his parents John and Sybil, siblings Jack, Louise, William, Mabel, Florence, George, Catherine and Violet and survived by his sister Ann and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. From a young age, he loved horse racing and baseball, he was given a contract to play ball for the New York Giant Farm Team in his 20s. Earl served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 10 years, serving on HMCS MICMAC (1954-1959) and the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve (1959-1964). Earl was an avid fan of curling and the Toronto Blue Jays. Due to Covid-19, all visitations and funerals are restricted to a specified number of attendees. Visitation at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Pioneer Memorial United Church, 1974 King Street East, on Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
