Harold Francis Machan

Born: 08 Apr 1923, Kamsack, Saskatchewan

 

Died: 22 Sep 1997, Regina, Saskatchewan

 

MACHAN, Harold Francis - was the middle child to Francis M. & Mary Machan.  He had an older sister, Helen and a younger brother Gary. Harold served in the RCNVR during the Second World War and served in HMCS SAULT STE MARIE as a Sto 1c and L/Sto.  He married Mabel A. Dukes on January 9th 1947 and they bought a home in the Regina area where they resided until his passing. They had been married over 50 years and 8 months when Harold passed.

 

Mabel and Harold had four children: Beverly, Shirley, Harley, and Douglas. For most of his life he worked for the Canadian National Railroad (CNR) as a locomotive machinist. His love of trains started at an early age as his father was a train conductor for the CNR. His youngest son Douglas also worked for CNR as a railroad engineer out of Regina. Harold is buried in the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina, SK.
