Died: 19 Mar 2021, Niagara Falls, Ontario

McGREGOR, Donald (Mac) - It is with the saddest of hearts, the family of Donald McGregor announces his passing on March 19, 2021. Born in Kinross, Scotland March 2, 1924, to Isabella and Thomas McGregor. Don enjoyed growing up in Niagara Falls with his siblings, the late Maidie Climenhage, the late Mary Gibbons and Issie Sorley but WWII interrupted, and Don enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy where he served his country onboard many ships. His proudest being HMCS SASKATCHEWAN. After the war, he returned and married the love of his life, the late Mabel Glover (2019) on August 6, 1945. They built a life in Niagara Falls and raised their boys Jim (Liz) and Mickey (Margaret). Don worked most of his career at Bell Canada and enjoyed an early retirement starting in 1982. Mabel and Don travelled to many places around the world especially Florida in their retirement years enjoying golf and finding a good casino in Las Vegas. Don's favourite place in the world to be was around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura (Kyle Craig) and Anne McGregor, Bryan (Mariya Fortuna) Apolonya and Maegan McGregor. Don was always their biggest fan. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews both here and in the U.S. In his younger days, huge family gatherings were held and Uncle Donnie was always the favourite. Cremation has taken place and due to the current pandemic restrictions, a family only service will take place at the Stamford Columbarium. Thank you to Bella Senior Care for their kindness to 'Mac' over the last few years and especially this last year for keeping him safe. In memory of Don, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 479 would be appreciated by his family. Arrangements entrusted to Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls.
