George M. Slade

Born: 14 Sep 1899

 

Died: 27 May 1951, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

 

George served in the Royal Navy during the 1st World War, joining underage as a Boy Seaman. He enlisted in the RCN for the Second World War as an Able Seaman and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

 

George is buried in the Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario.

 

George's son, Lt Richard Stanley Slade, RCNVR, lost his life in the sinking of HMCS GUYSBOROUGH during the Second World War.
