Died: 22 Mar 2004, Montreal

 

OSS, John Anthony - D. - Education. Former Superintendent of Schools, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. First Principal of Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School. Professor of Commerce, Concordia University. We are extremely sad to announce that John passed away March 22, 2004 after a year long battle with non-Hodgekins Lymphoma at the Ottawa Carleton Hospital. Throughout it all, he was courageous and the ultimate Christian. He was a great role model for his children and former students. He leaves to mourn his wife of forty-four years Carol Stewart, also his children John Peter (Shelly McClarty) Cambridge Ontario, Jo-Anne (Marc Just) of Alexandria Ontario, Lindsey, Toronto Ontario, Christopher (Tricia Avery), Cow Bay Nova Scotia. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Lacey Oss, Erik Just, Tyler Just, John Andrew Oss, Catherine Oss and great-grandson Noah Christopher. John was the son of the late John Peter Oss and Ann Lukaitis. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Michael. Special thanks to the Palliative Care of Ottawa Carleton Hospital and Dr. Ghislain Marleau of Alexandria Ontario. Visitation will begin Tuesday March 23, 2004 at 7 p.m. at the J.F. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, 5784 Verdun Avenue. Visitation will also take place Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Consecration of the Holy Eucharist will take place at St. Gabriel's Parish, 2157 Centre Street, Thursday March 25 at 12 noon. Interment Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. (The Montreal Gazette 23 Mar 2004)
