William (Bill) Layland

LAYLAND, William (Bill) - of Lower Sackville (born in Kitchener, Ont.), passed away peacefully August 29, 2020 at the age of 79. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Layland (Johnston); children, Darlene Layland, Vicki Cutler and Brian Layland; his grandchildren, Jordon, Alisha and Cameron Hart, Erik and Krystal Bywater, Emily and Dakota Layland; his great-grandchild, Dallas Bywater; also his loving brother, George Layland. Bill proudly served 32 years as an RP in the Canadian Navy and dedicated over 20 years volunteering his time to an organization he held close to his heart, the Navy League of Canada. He enjoyed his retirement as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Clementsport and Lower Sackville. A public visitation will be held on Friday, September 4th from 12-12:45 p.m. Masks are mandatory and social distancing will be observed. A funeral service by invitation only will begin at 1 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home Sackville Chapel. The service will be available by livestream at https://www.dis tantlink.com/DLM32.html Burial to follow in Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
