Died: 09 Aug 2020, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

SHAW,  Wilfred Patrick - Age 81, Timberlea, passed away peacefully August 9, 2020 in Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII. Wilfred was born on St. Patrick's Day 1939 in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, to the late James and Netta (Burt) Shaw. Wilfred was in the Navy serving on the HMCS Bonaventure; he then went on to work construction and later parking cars for events at Exhibition Park. He loved the Toronto Blue Jays, his cat Baby, and his family. He is survived by children, Patsy Vaughan, Tommy (Laura) Shaw, and Mary (Larry) Marriott; grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon (Marcy), Brandi (Steve), Gabriel, Stuart, and Isabella; great-granddaughter, Georgia; brother, James (Helen). Wilfred was predeceased by daughters, Debbie and Diane; granddaughter, Jo-jo; brother, Thomas "Buddy"; and sisters Dottie and Janet. Visitation/celebration of Life will take place Thursday, August 13th in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family burial will follow. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Scovil and Dr. Robyn Macfarlane for their care, as well as the staff at 9 Lane for their wonderful support during our difficult time.
