PRATT, John Gareth (Gary) - 75, Lower Sackville, passed away October 14, 2011 at home. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, he was the son of the late Randall and Margaret Alice (Simser) Pratt, and step-mother Doris (Wagar) Pratt. Gary served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 24 years as a weapons technician. he then worked for the Bedford magazine Ammunition Depot. He was a member of the Sackville Legion for over 20 years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time at the cottage in Lake Torment, East Dalhousie. He is survived by his loving wife Faye (Gallant); daughter Linda (Robert) Doherty, Lower Sackville; sons Keith (Joni) Pratt, Hammonds Plains, Timothy Pratt (Debbie), Lower Sackville, William Pratt (Judy), Beaver Bank; sisters Heather (Brian), Judy (Lennox), all of Ontario; brothers William (Freda), Geordie (Anne) all of Winnipeg, Jimmy, Ontario; seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by brothers Christopher, Herbie, Davey, Robbie, Randy and grandson Kyle. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 am Tuesday October 18th, 2011 at the Sackville Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road. Rev Bob Chapman officiating. Burial at Oakridge memory Gardens. A reception will be held in the Legion following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB.
