Donald Bruce Riddiford

Born: 1933, Toronto, Ontario

 

Died: 2020

 

RIDDIFORD, Donald Bruce - Born in 1933, in Toronto, Ont., he was the son of the late Florence (Everett) and Arthur Riddiford. Donald was married for 64 years to Harriett (Ward) who also passed away this year. They had a family of seven. Survived by sons, Ernest, Donald; daughters, Darlene (Roy), Sharon (Randy); nine grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Cavan, Douglas, and Kenneth. Donald served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 23 years as a marine engineer/machinist on Cape Scott, Nipigon, Iroquois and Annapolis. He retired in 1976 as Chief Petty Officer. His second career was with the school board as a school bus driver, janitor and part-time night supervisor for 18 years at Sir John A. MacDonald high school. Many thanks to the VON and Renal Clinic at the QEII. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. By request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or charity of choice. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 03 Jun 2020)
