BOURGEOIS, Joseph Alphonse - It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Joseph Alphonse Bourgeois. After 93 years of his lifetime journey he has gone to be with his Heavenly Father. Joseph is survived by his loving family, his sister Lucille; his children, Alan and Hilda, Donald, Mariette, Georgette and Lyle; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Grace, his youngest son Lance, his parents, brother Mathias, sister-in-law Freda and brother-in-law George. Joseph grew up in Letellier and moved to Winnipeg in 1942. He proudly served in the Navy during the Second World War on the ship HMCS MALPEQUE. He married Grace Hossack in 1945 and retired from CP Rail in 1989. After Grace died in 1998, Joseph was blessed with the opportunity to do volunteer work at Concordia Hospital and St. Joseph the Worker Church. This became a passion of his and he enjoyed being of service until December 2019. Joseph has been cremated and a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 505 Brewster Street, Transcona. Many thanks to the health care staff at Riverview Health Centre. We are grateful for the compassion and exceptional care Joseph received from all of you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. (Winnipeg Free Press 14 Mar 2020)
