Allen (O'B) O'Brien

O'BRIEN, Allen (O'B) - It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Allen "O'B" O'Brien, at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Pugwash Junction he was a son of the late William and Isabelle (Chapman) O'Brien. Allen served in the Canadian Navy for 25 years. Allan enjoyed going to yard sales. He was a handyman a jack of all trades, especially plumbing. He loved game shows. Allen enjoyed spending time at Shortts Lake with his kids. Allen is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn; sons, James (Patti), Roderick (Julie), Patrick, John (Erika), Douglas (Nina), Steven (Loretta); daughters, Beverley, Sharon (Stephen), Lisa; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, George, Ron (Claire), Alfie (Debbie), Layton (Maureen), Jimmy (Cathy); sisters, Ruth (Steve), Dorothy (Marc), Marjorie; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Violet; brothers, Robert and Michael. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777). No visitation by request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Lorneville United Church Cemetery, or Diabetes Canada. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 24 Feb 2020)
