Douglas Randolf (Doug) Ringer

 

Died: 19 Aug 2005, St-Anne de Bellevue, Quebec

 

RINGER, Douglas Randolf (Doug) - At the St-Anne de Bellevue Hospital on August 19, 2005 passed away courageously after a long battle with cancer at the age of eighty-five . He leaves to mourn his loving wife Opal Bourgaize and children Winnie (Ken Mullin) and Tom (Doreen). He will be fondly remembered and cherished by his grandchildren Brandon, Kelly and Jonathan. Born in Lockeport, N.S. He leaves six remaining siblings, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends. A veteran of WWII, he bravely fought in both the Atlantic and Pacific battles with the Canadian Navy. Proudly receiving the Atlantic and Pacific Stars. He was a long-time employee working for Shell Oil Canada and also a long-time member of the R.C.L. in Lasalle and White Ensign. To the doctors and staff of 9B, thank you for your overwhelming care and compassion. The sadness of our loss is tempered by the knowledge his suffering has now ended. Resting at Feron's Funeral Homes, 1010 Shevchenko blvd, Lasalle. Funeral ceremony to be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday August 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. (Montreal Gazette 24 Aug 2005)
